You have to be thoughtful. When you are on a date, plan the next date. It will never be easier to ask her on a second date than when you are enthusiastically talking about something. Talking on the phone does not have the same effect as talking face to face. Texting is even worse.
You don't have to be friends with her friends, but be nice to them and don't ignore them. Let her have a girls' night out.
